Drew S. Levin's TMC Entertainment, an independent film and television production company, announced today a "greenlight" for the major dramatic feature "Shroud," the latest project to be produced and funded by the Company's scripted-drama division. The feature will take viewers on a high-speed cat-and-mouse chase full of modern suspense (in the vein of Dan Brown and Tom Clancy) on a quest to uncover the truth behind the age-old mystery surrounding the Shroud of Turin.

Filmed on location in Turin, Sicily and Israel, the feature will be executive produced by award-winning producers Drew S. Levin ("Total Recall 2070," "Call of the Wild") and Lorenzo Minoli ("Joseph," "Nicholas Gift") and written by Judd Parkin ("David," CBSs "Jesus").

The feature delves into the mystery surrounding the Shroud of Turin, revered by Christians as the linen in which Jesus' body was wrapped after his death, and the fact that a carbon-dating examination of the Shroud estimated it was created in the 13th century. In the feature, Robert, headmaster at a renowned divinity school, sends his two best scholars, Laura and John, to Turin to research the Shroud and return with evidence that it is in fact an artifact of the Middle Ages, as some scholars believe. Their investigation leads them in a suspenseful and unexpected direction: on a search for James, the brother of Jesus.

The concept was created by Levin and Minoli and is the first in a series of independent features being financed by the Company's new production fund. TMC Entertainment will handle international distribution and is in discussions with a number of domestic theatrical distributors regarding the U.S. release of "Shroud," scheduled for Spring 2006.

"TMC Entertainment is proud to be producing and financing this ambitious venture. 'Shroud' will bring adventure suspense in the vein of Tom Clancy into a biblical issue and provide a new take on one of history's most fascinating mysteries," said Levin.

"'Shroud' will have audiences engrossed with its adventure and suspense, as few religious-themed films have done before. The project offers a unique perspective on a truly amazing historical subject," said Minoli.

The script is due to be completed this month with a number of directors awaiting a copy. Principal photography will commence in Italy and the Holy Land in late September 2005.
