wardrobe malfunction bride bloopers
BridalBloopers.com, the latest website created by bridal advocate and bargain guru Stephi Stewart, has just announced its first monthly photo and caption contest winners.
For over three years, Stewart, author of the Internet bestseller “Fire Your Wedding Planner! Money Saving Secrets Every Bride Should Know” has been teaching brides-to-be that planning a wedding doesn’t have to result in financial ruin. However, wedding-day goof-ups, she says, are unavoidable.
Her new site BridalBloopers.com features entries from real people whose funny or embarrassing wedding-day moments have been caught on film.
From grooms passing out at the altar, catfights during the bouquet toss and wedding cakes toppling over unexpectedly, anything goes on BridalBloopers.com
Visitors to the site are encouraged to vote for their favorite blooper photo and the monthly winner is awarded a $100 cash prize.
Even those without bridal blooper photos are getting in on the fun by entering the “caption” contest (the funniest description of what’s happening in the “photo of the month” also wins $100).
October’s caption contest called for entrants to describe a photo featuring a terrified bride with her hand to her chin posing next to her groom who is wearing a pink garter around his elbow. The winner is Linnea Zednik of Gladstone, OR with: "Oh my gosh! I forgot to pluck that long, black chin hair!"
The winning entry of the October photo contest is entitled “Wardrobe Malfunction 2,” and features a bride with something to get off her chest: her dress. The photo captures a happy newlywed couple jumping for joy as, unbeknownst to the bride, her dress fails to join her in the air.
The “revealing” photo was submitted by Amanda Sell of Mount Vernon, WA who says, "if you can laugh after flashing 200 guests, you'll be able to handle anything in marriage, right?"
Although the slightly risqué picture was labeled “Not Safe for Work,” it received 908 votes to score an 8.14 out of 10, proving that people really do love a good laugh.
This, of course, is the exact reason why Stephi Stewart created BridalBloopers.com in the first place.
“When it comes to negotiating contracts and saving money, I teach my readers to take wedding planning very seriously,” says Stewart. “On the other hand, it’s impossible to expect that your ceremony and reception will go 100% smoothly, so I advise a more lighthearted approach.
In my experience, the couples who can roll with the punches -- and laugh when things go wrong -- have the most enjoyable weddings. I wanted to create a site to celebrate these funny moments that often end up making the best lifelong memories,” Stewart explains.
So go ahead, drink that champagne! Now wedding day snafus can actually pay off.
BridalBloopers.com is now accepting entries for its November photo contest.
